I initially started this blog as a site about my recently-discovered love for travel and my “since-the-ancient-times” affair with music. It was formerly known as “Meeks Music Chronicles” (http://meeksmusicchronicles.wordpress.com).
However, as of late, I’ve been thinking about posting other stuff that spark my interest. So I thought, maybe I should start another blog. But maintaining one blog was already barely manageable for me, and eventually, the horror of having two blogs got me overwhelmed. So I was like, screw that, I’ll just change the URL! And then put EVERYTHING in one site. Thus, *drum roll* the The Lady Renaissance was born.
So there. It’ll still be mostly about music and travel, but I’ll be writing about other topics also every now and then! Cheers! 🙂
Hello Meeks. Good to meet another new blogger here! 🙂 What kind of music do you like?

Hi Steve! It’s nice to meet you too! Thank you for stopping by my blog. ^_^
Well, my taste in music is pretty eclectic, I listen to almost all genres, whether it be pop, rock, blues, gospel, instrumental, techno/house, even Japanese and Korean music.
You like music too? 🙂

Ecelectic tastes are cool 🙂 Yes, I’m much the same in that I appreciate a pretty wide range of music. I have my personal preferences, but I can always appreciate real talent in any area. I used to make music myself before I took a break to learn photography instead. I’ve always loved electronic music, but really the classics, not so much the club stuff you hear now. I’ve come to appreciate and enjoy a lot more types of music over the years, and have always been partial to jazz too. ddly enough, just last night I was having s conversation with one of my favourite musical acts, and he’s sending me out a signed copy of his second to last album from a pressing from some years ago. I shall be following your blog with interest 🙂

Wow, that’s cool! I also do music from time to time, but lately because of my work as a programmer, I’m finding it hard to squeeze music in my schedule.
Thank you for following! I’ll also be checking out your website. ^_^

Great! What kind of music do you like to make when you have time? Funnily enough, I’m seriouusly thinking about downscaling the home studio to something a lot more portable and fun. Got an iRig tofay in hopes it will allow more recording to happen.I look forward to staying in touch!

Mostly I do acoustic pop songs, and japanese pop/rock. But lately I’ve been more interested in music production so I’ve been studying some music theory (although I know some basics because I used to sing in a choir) and piano, so I can learn to produce. 🙂
You have your own studio? Wow, that’s good for you! 🙂 as for me, it’ll probably take a while before I could have my own recording equipment… I need to save up bigtime. Haha.

Hey there. ‘Studio’ is too much a word for it! To be honest, I’m downsizing to an iPad, a microphone for field recording, an iRig for instrument connection and some instruments/noisemakers. It would be good to be able to make it all very portable and small.

By the way, do you have any of your music posted to Soundcloud or similar?
